NBA Game Summary - Detroit at Portland

Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Damian Lillard had 28 points and nine assists, and LaMarcus Aldridge scored 22 in Portland's 118-99 rout of the Detroit Pistons.

Arron Afflalo and Meyers Leonard each had 15 points, and Chris Kaman scored 14 for the Trail Blazers, who won for the fifth time in six games.

"How we played better defensively it could have been one of our best games of the year," Lillard said. "We moved the ball really well, we set screens and made the extra pass."

Greg Monroe had 19 points, and Andre Drummond tallied 16 points and 17 rebounds for the Pistons, who lost their ninth in a row.

"I thought we made offensive improvement today against a good defensive team," Detroit coach Stan Van Gundy said. "I thought our pace was better. I thought our ball movement was better. but we couldn't find a way to stop them at all."

In an ugly incident with 1:05 remaining, Detroit's Shawne Williams and Portland's Joel Freeland were both ejected after the two butted heads. Williams led with his head first and Freeland reacted by jutting his head into the Detroit forward.

Lillard scored 13 and Aldridge 10 in the opening quarter to carry the hosts to a 35-24 lead. Included in that period was a 13-2 burst, highlighted by a pair of 3-balls from Lillard.

Portland went 11-of-19 from the field in the second and increased its advantage to 64-46 at halftime. The cushion reached as high as 21 in the third and was at 95-78 going to the fourth.

The Pistons never threatened over the final 12 minutes as they lost for the fifth straight time against the Trail Blazers.
