NBA Game Summary - Atlanta at Minnesota

Minneapolis, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Al Horford had 28 points and eight rebounds in the Atlanta Hawks' 117-105 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday.

DeMarre Carroll added 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting for the Hawks, who bounced back from a 94-88 loss at Memphis on Sunday. Paul Millsap tallied 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists.

"It was an important game," said Horford. "It was key for us to come out here with a sense of urgency and put on a good show."

Kevin Martin ended with 21 points for the Timberwolves, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Shabazz Muhammad contributed 18 points and eight boards.

"They can suck energy out of you, how they play," said Minnesota coach Flip Saunders. "There's a reason why they have the best record in the league."

The Hawks, who led 57-53 at the half, started the third quarter on a 7-0 run. Kyle Korver capped the spurt with a 3-pointer to make it a 64-53 game.

Ahead 71-63, Atlanta created some distance with a 13-3 run. Carroll tallied nine points during the burst, including a 3-pointer with 2:24 left to make it 84-66. The visitors took an 86-72 edge into the fourth.

Minnesota never got closer than 12 in the final frame.
