NBA Game Summary - Oklahoma City at Memphis

Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - No overtime was needed in this one.

That's because Kevin Durant became Mr. Unstoppable in regulation.

Durant had 36 points and 10 rebounds and the Oklahoma City Thunder routed the Memphis Grizzlies, 104-84, in Game 6 of their Western Conference first-round series.

After extra time was needed to decide the outcome of an NBA-record previous four games of the set, Durant got his shots up early and helped the Thunder build too large of a margin for the Grizzlies to overcome.

He appeared to be motivated by a headline by The Oklahoman earlier Thursday which read "Mr. Unreliable."

Durant posted 14 points in the first quarter and finished with 18 on 7-of-13 efficiency in the first half as Oklahoma City headed into the break with a healthy 56-41 advantage.

The headline by The Oklahoman was in reference to Durant's recent poor play in the series. He had been shooting just 40 percent in the series and 15-of-45 over the past two contests coming in.

Durant was 11-of-23 from the floor, despite misfiring on all six of his attempts from beyond the arc, and finished 14-of-15 from the charity stripe for the second-seeded Thunder, who have not lost a first-round playoff series since 2010.

Game 7 is Saturday night in Oklahoma City.

Russell Westbrook provided 25 points, nine rebounds, five assists and three steals, while Reggie Jackson netted 16 points off the bench in the triumph.

Marc Gasol tallied 17 points and Zach Randolph added 16 points and eight rebounds for Memphis, which can still become the second seventh seed to beat a No. 2 seed in a best-of-seven series on Saturday, joining the 2010 San Antonio Spurs, who beat the Dallas Mavericks.

The Grizzlies shot just 37.3 percent (31-of-83) from the field.

Durant netted 10 quick points past the midway point of the first quarter and a Kendrick Perkins layup at the 4:12 mark staked the Thunder to a 19-8 advantage.

Durant was 6-of-10 from the floor in the first 12 minutes as OKC led 25-17 following a quarter of play.

A Mike Conley layup cut the Grizzlies deficit to 42-37 late in the second before the Thunder extended their margin after a 14-2 push. Westbrook had a putback dunk on a Durant airball from beyond the arc and Serge Ibaka capped the burst with a jumper for a 56-39 spread.

OKC led by as many as 22 in the third and took an 82-61 lead into the fourth, where it cruised to the easy victory.
