NBA Game Summary - Memphis at Portland

Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - LaMarcus Aldridge had 28 points and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Memphis Grizzlies by a 105-98 margin on Sunday.

Mo Williams and Wesley Matthews added 17 and 15 points, respectively, for the Blazers, who have won three in a row and sit two games ahead of the Golden State Warriors for fifth in the Western Conference.

"I liked our mindset, I liked our focus from beginning to end," Blazers head coach Terry Stotts said.

Zach Randolph ended with 21 points, seven boards and two steals for the Grizzlies, who sit a half-game behind Dallas for the final playoff spot in the West. Marc Gasol and Mike Conley tallied 20 and 16 points, respectively, with Conley also dishing out nine assists.

"They just came out harder than us. They wanted it more from the start. They came out being aggressive. Our defense wasn't there tonight," Randolph said.

Portland led 25-23 following a first quarter that featured eight lead changes and six ties.

Mike Miller opened the second stanza with a jumper to tie the game, but the Blazers took control from there. Robin Lopez's three-point play sparked a 16-4 Portland run, which made it a 41-29 contest with 5:59 left.

The Blazers built a 15-point lead before taking a 57-45 edge into the locker room.

Portland continued to dominant in the third frame, leading by as many as 18. It was an 86-70 contest heading to the fourth.

Memphis used a late surge to make the score look closer than it really was. Trailing 101-84 with 5:02 to play, the Grizzlies closed out the game on a 14-4 run.
