NBA Game Summary - Utah at Memphis

Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol combined for 41 points and 21 rebounds and the Memphis Grizzlies held on for a 96-86 win over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.

Randolph had 21 points and 11 rebounds and Gasol went for 20 and 10 for the Grizzlies, who have won six of their last seven games and hold the No. 8 seed in the Western Conference.

Memphis, which has won eight in a row at home and six of seven against the Jazz, got 18 points from Mike Conley.

Gordon Hayward, Trey Burke and Alec Burks each scored 16 for the Jazz, who have lost six in a row and 11 of their last 12.

"It's always tough playing against those guys," said Jazz forward Derrick Favors, who was held to six points on 3-of-10 shooting.

The Jazz, after trailing by as many as 18 in the second quarter, tied the score at 84-84 on Burks' layup in the fourth. But they only scored one more time in the last 5:38 -- on an Enes Kanter dunk.

"We lacked focus coming out of halftime and they were very aggressive," said Memphis coach Dave Joerger. "We made a little change in our coverages and did a good job of getting up on shooters."

The Grizzlies scored six in a row after Burks' layup, the first four on layups by Tayshaun Prince and Randolph and the last two on Conley's floater with 3:57 left.

Utah turned the ball over three times and missed its last seven tries after Kanter's dunk.

The Jazz finished up a winless three-game road trip and fell to 2-12 in their last 14 away from home.

The Grizzlies opened the game on a 12-2 run and never trailed. Their lead ballooned to 18 late in the first half and was 16 going into the break. The Jazz used a 16-4 run in the third quarter to cut their deficit to four but were down 11 going into the fourth.

Memphis also beat Utah at home on Dec. 23. The teams will meet one more time this season next Wednesday in Salt Lake City.
