Holm again calls for rematch amid De Randamie retirement rumors

Does Holly Holm know something we don't?

The former UFC women's bantamweight titleholder took to Facebook on Thursday to address rumors she said she heard about Germaine de Randamie retiring. Holm was defeated by De Randamie this past February in a bout for the inaugural women's 145-pound championship.

It's unclear where the retirement rumors originated, but they were enough to prompt Holm to repeat her desire to fight De Randamie. Immediately after UFC 208, both women appeared to be amenable to a rematch given that the outcome was a close five-round unanimous decision win for De Randamie, and that there was controversy over "The Iron Lady" striking Holm after the bell on two separate occasions.

However, De Randamie's availability is in limbo after she revealed she may undergo hand surgery at an undetermined date. The 33-year-old fighter hasn't discussed hanging up the gloves, though the lack of updates on her status has been the cause of much frustration for Holm and Brazilian star Cris Cyborg.
