Esparza to fight Moroz at UFC Oklahoma City

Former strawweight champion Carla Esparza will look to get back in the win column when she meets Maryna Moroz at UFC Fight Night 112 in Oklahoma City on June 25.

The promotion recently added the bout to the event website.

Esparza finds herself in a slump with losses in two of her past three appearances. After dropping the 115-pound title to Joanna Jedrzejczyk, "Cookie Monster" bounced back with a win over Juliana Lima only to lose a split decision to Randa Markos in her most recent outing this past February.

She currently sits at No. 9 in the UFC rankings, one spot ahead of Moroz.

The 25-year-old Moroz is on a two-fight win streak after taking decisions over UFC newcomers Cristina Stanciu and Danielle Taylor. She burst onto the scene with an upset submission victory over Joanne Calderwood and currently holds a 3-1 record inside the Octagon.

UFC Fight Night 112 will take place at the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Two-time world champion BJ Penn has been booked to fight Dennis Siver in a featherweight bout, but the event does not currently have an official headliner.
