GSP shuts down talk of Bisping fight

There's at least one thing Georges St-Pierre and Dana White can agree on.

After Michael Bisping's Tuesday night callout of GSP was refuted by the UFC president, St-Pierre took to Twitter on Wednesday to confirm that a matchup between he and Bisping wouldn't be taking place at UFC 206 in December:

"Nothing would make me more happy in the world than to fight you in Toronto, Michael," said St-Pierre. " ... I made peace with Dana, I tried to resolve things but unfortunately, right now it's not happening. Hopefully, things will change soon."

Widely regarded as the greatest welterweight fighter of all time, St-Pierre hasn't competed since a five-round split decision win over Johny Hendricks in November 2013. The French-Canadian re-entered contract negotiations with the UFC earlier this year, but his sponsorship deal with Under Armour has been a sticking point as it interferes with the UFC's exclusive partnership with Reebok.

Bisping recently defended his middleweight title for the first time in a rematch with Dan Henderson at UFC 204. "The Count" was rumored to be matched up with St-Pierre prior to the booking of the Henderson bout, and he's still interested in making that superfight happen.

Barring a shocking change of plans from the above parties, UFC 206 will be headlined by a light heavyweight championship match between Daniel Cormier and Anthony "Rumble" Johnson. The event takes place Dec. 10 at Air Canada Centre.
