Dillashaw wagers $100K, fight purse for Cruz callout
TJ Dillashaw is seated comfortably in the No. 1 spot of the UFC's contender rankings, but another shot at Dominick Cruz is not guaranteed.
That means Dillashaw is having to hustle to get the attention of his rival. On Friday, he posted a video on Instagram in which he promised to give Cruz $100,000 and his entire fight purse if Cruz can beat him in a rematch.
Cruz narrowly defeated Dillashaw in January to win the UFC bantamweight title, with the latter hoping the close result would lead to an immediate sequel. Instead, Dillashaw went on to defeat Raphael Assuncao at UFC 200, while Cruz is rumored to be facing Cody Garbrandt next.
In response to Dillashaw possibly taking his place in line, Garbrandt took a dig at him on Twitter suggesting that Dillashaw's past success involved PED use.
