Roy Nelson to fight Derrick Lewis at UFC Fight Night 90
Derrick "The Black Beast" Lewis will get his wish at UFC Fight Night 90 in July, when he squares off against Roy "Big Country" Nelson.
It's been expected that the two heavyweight brawlers would square off since Lewis mangled Gabriel Gonzaga at UFC Zagreb earlier in April.
"It's a fan-friendly fight," Lewis said after his April 10 bout, according to Shaun Al-Shatti of MMAFighting. "The fans are going to love it, and it's going to be a really, really awesome fight for me and my career. And it won't go to the judges, either."
Lewis is on a three-fight win streak, with all nine of his latest wins coming by knockout. While Nelson is still ranked three spots higher in the official rankings, the 39-year-old has lost five of his last seven fights.
"Big Country" did decision Jared Rosholt in February.
