VIDEO: Hosmer schools Rizzo in MLB The Show 16

If there was a World Series of MLB The Show 16, Eric Hosmer would already own another ring.

The Kansas City Royals first baseman proved his baseball skills translate to the video-game world Monday by trouncing his Chicago Cubs counterpart Anthony Rizzo in a pair of MLB The Show 16 contests.

Hosmer's virtual Royals looked as dominant as the real team did during last October's championship run, as he no-hit Rizzo into the eighth inning of their first game and eventually earned a shutout win.

The Cubs took two of three real-life meetings against the Royals in 2015, but that luck didn't translate to the video-game world. Rizzo scored two runs in the second game, but it wasn't enough to get past Hosmer.

MLB The Show 16 will be released for PlayStation 4 on March 29.
