The San Francisco Giants are interested in signing free agent Juan Uribe to play a utility role in 2016, but his asking price is too high, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.

It's unclear exactly what Uribe is asking for on the open market, but it could be somewhere in the ballpark of the $6.5 million he earned last season.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy knows firsthand what the 15-year veteran brings to the table. Uribe was part of his club's 2010 championship team, posting career highs in home runs (24) and RBIs (85) during the regular season.

Uribe has also reportedly received interest from the Cleveland Indians after they missed out on acquiring All-Star third baseman Todd Frazier, who was ultimately dealt to the Chicago White Sox.

The 36-year-old Uribe hit .253/.320/.417 with 14 homers and 43 RBIs in 119 games in 2015 while playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, and New York Mets.
