As Elvis Andrus continues to come out from the shadows of the worst inning of his career, the Texas Rangers shortstop recently confided in someone who has dealt with his fair share of disappointing moments.

Four months since his multi-error performance in Game 5 of the ALDS, Andrus spoke with Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and asked how to bounce back from a potentially career-defining moment.

"He said, 'What happened to you, I know what happened to you. I saw the game. I can relate to that. I know that's going to make you a better player. It has made you a better person right now. A lot of moments in your life are made to happen to make you step up,'" Andrus told the Ben and Skin Show on Monday of his conversation with Romo.

Andrus was responsible for committing two of the three errors during a seventh-inning rally for the Toronto Blue Jays that eventually resulted in the Rangers' elimination from the postseason.

Following the loss, the 27-year-old shouldered most of the blame, calling it the "toughest point of his career."

Andrus said in November that he has come to terms with what happened and that he is in a good spot.

"The bad things, I learn from that and put it in the past," he said. "For sure, what happened last year is something that is going to make me work harder."
