Royals agree to minor-league deal with Moylan

Right-hander Peter Moylan signed a minor-league contract with the Kansas City Royals on Saturday that includes an invite to major league Spring Training.

Analysis:

The veteran right-hander spent last season with the Braves, appearing in 22 games but only pitching 10.1 innings out of the bullpen. He'll have the chance to compete for a bullpen spot this spring, but it's no guarantee that he makes the Opening Day roster given the Royals already-strong group of relievers.
