The Los Angeles Dodgers remain adamant about improving their bullpen this offseason.

Right-hander Ryan Madson has been contacted by the club, according to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman.

Madson enjoyed a bounce-back campaign with the Kansas City Royals in 2015, recording a 2.13 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 58 strikeouts across 63 1/3 innings.

The 35-year-old hurler served as an effective closer for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2011, but required Tommy John surgery to repair a torn ligament in his elbow during the 2011-12 offseason, which significantly derailed his career until his recent resurgence.

Los Angeles is also significantly interested in have sidearmer Darren O'Day bolster its bullpen, which ranked 19th in the majors in ERA (3.91).
