Chicago White Sox prospect Adam Engel has put himself on the map with a terrific showing in the Arizona Fall League.

Engel, the club's 17th-ranked prospect according to MLB.com, claimed the AFL batting title and earned league MVP honors while playing for the Glendale Desert Dogs.

The 23-year-old outfielder hit an impressive .403/.523/.642 with a home run and nine RBIs in 19 games to become the first White Sox prospect to win the award. He managed a .251/.335/.369 slash line in 136 games for Class-A Advanced Winston-Salem before taking part in the condensed AFL season.

Engel, a 2013 19th-round selection of the White Sox, joins some elite company in taking home this award. Other notable winners include New York Yankees first baseman Greg Bird, Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, Colorado Rockies third baseman Nolan Arenado, and former Atlanta Braves pitcher Tommy Hanson.
