Despite making early departures from Thursday's ALDS opener at Rogers Centre, both Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista are back in the starting lineup for the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 2 of their best-of-five matchup with the Texas Rangers on Friday.

Donaldson, who appeared in 158 regular-season games, left Game 1 after taking a knee to the head attempting to break up a double play in the fourth inning. Though Blue Jays manager John Gibbons noted after his club's 5-3 loss that Donaldson "got a little light-headed," the 29-year-old passed concussion tests and will return to his usual spot at third base.

Bautista will be back in right field, despite leaving Game 1 after eight innings with cramping in his right hamstring. Before departing, the six-time All-Star went 1-for-4 with a solo shot in his first career postseason game.

The Blue Jays will also have Chris Colabello patrol first base for Game 2 instead of Justin Smoak, who went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts in the series opener and typically sits against left-handed starters. Colabello, though, has never faced Cole Hamels, set to make his first postseason start since 2011.

Adrian Beltre, meanwhile, will watch Game 2 from the bench after leaving Thursday's victory due to lower back stiffness. Hanser Alberto will start at third base in lieu of Beltre, who left the field in tears and shortly thereafter received a cortisone injection in his back.

Rangers manager Jeff Banister told reporters Friday he wouldn't rule Beltre out of a pinch-hitting role.

Set to square off against right-hander Marcus Stroman, the Rangers will start five left-handed hitters Friday, with Mitch Moreland returning to the lineup after sitting Thursday in favor of Mike Napoli, a right-handed hitter.
