Max Scherzer and Adrian Beltre saved their very best for last.

The pair of superstars were recognized for their impressive final days of the regular season when they were awarded Player of the Week honors Monday, for their respective leagues.

Scherzer's week began strong and ended historically.

The Washington Nationals right-hander struck out 10 over eight one-run innings Sept. 28 against Cincinnati, before capping the week with his second no-hitter of the season. Scherzer's 17-strikeout masterpiece Saturday gave him a 0.53 ERA with 27 strikeouts to three walks over his final two starts.

Beltre's efforts, meanwhile, helped the Texas Rangers to their first AL West title since 2011, by hitting .448/.484/.793 with two homers and five doubles across seven games.

The Rangers third baseman finished his exceptional week by homering and going 2-for-4 in Sunday's division-clinching win over the Los Angeles Angels.
