The New York Yankees' left-handed starter experienced symptoms of dehydration upon exiting his start against the Texas Rangers after five innings, and was sent to a local hospital for precautionary reasons. He won't travel with his teammates to Chicago.

Sabathia gave up nine hits on a hot night in the south, three of them home runs, and was tagged for five earned runs. He struck out three and walked one, his ERA now at 5.54.

The Yankees lost 7-6 to the Rangers, after Josh Hamilton sent the home fans happy with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth.

New York, 57-44, will face the White Sox for three beginning Friday night.
