Rangers' Profar has had 'a few setbacks'; hoping to be ready by Opening Day

Joe Camporeale / USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Rangers are hopeful that Jurickson Profar will be ready for the start the regular season, after assistant general manager Thad Levine told MLB Network Radio that the talented young infielder suffered a few setbacks during his recovery from a shoulder strain.

Profar missed the entire 2014 season with a torn shoulder muscle suffered back in March, and encountered a number of setbacks throughout his recovery.

In two seasons with the Rangers,  Profar has hit .231/.301/.3 with seven home runs, 13 doubles and 28 RBI in 94 games.
