Report: Giants interested in trading for Cole Hamels

The San Francisco Giants remain committed to adding another elite left-hander to pair with Madison Bumgarner at the top of their rotation.
ESPN's Jayson Stark reports the Giants have joined the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers as teams expressing interest in trading for Philadelphia Phillies ace Cole Hamels.
All three teams failed in their pursuit of free-agent lefty Jon Lester, who reportedly agreed to terms with the Chicago Cubs late Tuesday night.
Hamels, who turns 31 later this month, is owed nearly $100 million over the next four seasons and would likely cost whichever club deals for him a package of top prospects.
