Watch: Gomez rips double, loses cleat at 2nd base

Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

Carlos Gomez's foot speed is so lethal he's running out of his cleats.

The Texas Rangers outfielder ripped a double off Jesse Chavez in his first at-bat in Saturday's matchup against the Los Angeles Angels. As he rounded first base, one of Gomez's cleats flew off his foot.

He didn't appear fazed, though, making it to second safely. He later retrieved his footwear, which helped him on an RBI triple - his first of the year - in the bottom of the fifth.
