A-Rod teases potential comeback: 'Stay tuned'

Brad Penner / USA TODAY Sports

Alex Rodriguez may not be done playing baseball.

The 41-year-old, who sat out a chunk of the 2016 season after being released by the New York Yankees on Aug. 13, teased he may have something on the horizon during a FOX pregame show on Saturday.

While a panel, including Frank Thomas and Pete Rose, discussed the retirement of Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, A-Rod's last game as a big leaguer was brought up when he was asked how it felt.

After his release, Rodriguez took a special advisor and instructor position with the Yankees, but has not announced his retirement from baseball. He did reportedly receive some interest from the Miami Marlins after his release, but chose to instead sit out the year.

Over the course of his career, Rodriguez owns a .295/.380/.550 slash line over his 22 years in the bigs. He also sits just four home runs away from reaching 700.
