Watch: Bautista gently drops bat after smashing HR in Texas

USA TODAY Sports / Reuters

There were no bat flips from Jose Bautista in Toronto's beat down of the Texas Rangers on Thursday. In fact, Bautista kept it classy by doing the complete opposite.

After hammering a three-run home run off Rangers reliever Jake Diekman into the left field stands during the ninth inning of Thursday's contest, Bautista gently laid his bat on the ground before he began his home run trot.

The dinger gave the Blue Jays a 10-0 lead, and caused a few interruptions when the ball was thrown back onto the field, while a patron decided it would be a good idea to jump on the playing surface as well.

Bautista's home run put him into fine Blue Jays company, tying Joe Carter for the most in franchise history with six.

He's also homered in three straight postseason games, which is the longest in Blue Jays playoff history.
