Clearly, the whole "don't celebrate too hard" mantra was lost on one member of the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night.

Russell Martin, the Blue Jays' stalwart catcher, required stitches after splitting open his lefty pinky finger giving someone a high five after Edwin Encarnacion's walk-off moonshot in the bottom of the 11th inning of the American League wild-card game sent Toronto to the division series, according to Sportsnet's Arden Zwelling.

The injury won't keep him out of the lineup, though, as Martin said he's fine to play and the 33-year-old should be behind the plate when the Blue Jays open their best-of-five series against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park on Thursday.

Martin, who went 0-for-4 against the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday, hit .231/.335/.398 (96 OPS+) with 20 homers in 137 regular-season contests in 2016, and posted an .823 OPS after the All-Star break.
