The New York Yankees apparently remain open-minded over whether to become buyers or sellers at Monday's deadline, as sources tell Jon Heyman of Today's Knuckleball the club is reportedly gauging trade interest in veteran catcher Brian McCann.

ESPN's Buster Olney followed up Heyman's report by revealing the Braves have been in contact with the Yankees regarding McCann, the Georgia native who spent the first nine seasons of his career in Atlanta and earned seven All-Star selections.

Although there's apparently interest in a reunion, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports McCann's no-trade clause and high-priced contract could complicate a deal.

McCann, who hit a career-high 26 home runs last season, is under contract for two more years at a total of $34 million. His deal includes a health-based vesting option for 2019 valued at $15 million.

The 32-year-old entered Saturday in the midst of yet another solid offensive season, posting a .764 OPS - his highest mark since 2013 - with 15 homers and nine doubles in 82 games.

The Yankees are believed to be open to dealing McCann given their depth at the catcher position, which includes Triple-A catcher Gary Sanchez, the club's fourth-ranked prospect according to MLB Pipeline.
