Aroldis Chapman's time in the Bronx may be coming closer to an end.

The New York Yankees have reportedly begun shaping potential trades for the All-Star closer, rival executives told ESPN's Buster Olney.

The Washington Nationals, Cleveland Indians, and Texas Rangers are specifically listed by Olney as having talked with the Yankees about Chapman, and other clubs could be involved as well.

With the Yankees falling in the standings, it's increasingly likely that both Chapman and fellow left-handed reliever Andrew Miller could have new homes by the Aug. 1 trade deadline. As of last week, however, general manager Brian Cashman had not committed to selling; reports even indicated the Yankees were considering offering him a contract extension.

All three teams listed by Olney would be logical landing spots for Chapman. The Nationals have long coveted the 28-year-old since his former manager in Cincinnati, Dusty Baker, was hired in the winter. Both the Rangers and Indians could use bullpen reinforcements, while the Indians in particular would benefit from Chapman's left-handed arm.

Other possible teams with interest in Chapman could include the Chicago Cubs, who need bullpen help. However, they're loath to part with injured slugger Kyle Schwarber, who Cashman is said to covet.

Chapman owns a 2.22 ERA, 0.918 WHIP, and 19 saves in his first season with the Yankees. He served a 30-day suspension for a domestic violence incident at the beginning of the season.
