Wilmer Flores was delighted to see the Chicago Cubs again.

A year after he hit .286/.333/.500 in the New York Mets' four-game NLCS sweep of the North Siders, Flores put on a hitting clinic in Queens on Sunday with a perfect six-hit performance that tied a franchise record in the Mets' 14-2 thrashing of baseball's best team.

Flores got things started in the Mets' seven-run second inning with a mammoth home run off Jon Lester. He added an RBI single in his second at-bat of the inning, and then a second home run in the fifth. His final totals: 6-for-6 with two homers, four singles, three runs scored, and four RBIs.

The 24-year-old is the second player in Mets history to record six hits in one game, joining Edgardo Alfonzo in 1999. Coincidentally, both Flores and Alfonzo had two homers as part of their six-hit performances.

Flores' six-hit afternoon comes just one day after C.J. Cron recorded the majors' first six-hit effort since 2014.
