Pittsburgh Pirates third baseman Jung Ho Kang flexed his muscles on Tuesday against the New York Mets when he crushed a sixth inning offering from right-hander Jacob deGrom into left-center field.

The laser shot traveled into the stands at a speed of 110.9 mph, which is the hardest hit homer off the bat of a Pirates player this season.

Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins is credited with the hardest hit ball in the majors this year, with an exit velocity of 123.9, according to Statcast, although Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez' 420-foot long ball on April 30 is the hardest hit homer in the bigs. It left the park at 117.4 mph.

It was Kang's ninth homer of the season in just his 31st game.
