Watch: Ortiz caps historic day with walk-off double
David Ortiz became the 15th player in baseball history to record 600 career doubles Saturday with an 11th-inning walk-off two-bagger against the Houston Astros.
The Boston Red Sox designated hitter also joined Barry Bonds and Hank Aaron as the only players in history to record 600 doubles and 500 home runs.

The 40-year-old's walk-off completed an unbelievable game for the retiring superstar. In the third inning, Big Papi hit his 513th career home run, passing Hall of Famers Ernie Banks and Eddie Mathews on the all-time list. Then, with the Red Sox down to their final out in the ninth inning, Ortiz set up his own extra-inning heroics by hitting a game-tying RBI triple - his first three-bagger since June 15, 2013.
Recognizing the importance of his milestone double, Ortiz made sure not to leave the field empty-handed.

Ortiz chose to not discuss his historic day with reporters and left Fenway Park immediately to attend his daughter's birthday party, according to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe.
His ninth- and 11th-inning heroics marked the first time since June 18, 2014 that Ortiz hit a game-tying or go-ahead hit in the ninth inning or later at home.
