Watch: Kang homers twice in return from broken leg
Welcome back, Jung Ho Kang.
The Pittsburgh Pirates infielder was in the lineup for the first time since having his leg broken on a slide by Chris Coghlan last September. That injury ended a fantastic rookie campaign for the 28-year-old that saw him hit .287/.355/.461 with 15 home runs.
So naturally, the only way for Kang to show he's back and fully healthy was to hit his first home run of 2016 to the opposite field off Cardinals hurler Tyler Lyons.
And if that wasn't enough to prove he's over the injury, Kang went deep a second time in the eighth inning.
Now that he's healthy, Kang will likely slot in at third base for the Pirates going forward.
"I think everybody in the organization that's been a part of this or watched this whole process take place is blown away by this man's courage, determination, resiliency, perseverance. It's been crazy good," manager Clint Hurdle said. "He's a class act. He's a pro."
