A-Rod smacks 690th career HR in return to lineup

After taking about 25 swings off a tee Monday night, Alex Rodriguez, the New York Yankees' ailing designated hitter, said his wonky left oblique was feeling "pretty good."
When the 40-year-old returned to the lineup Wednesday night at Globe Life Park after missing the previous two games, Rodriguez looked pretty good, too.
During the fourth inning of his club's contest with the Texas Rangers, Rodriguez smacked an 0-1 changeup from left-hander Martin Perez into the seats in left, erasing a one-run deficit with the 690th home run of his 22-year career.
Rodriguez, who took the field Wednesday with just a .515 OPS this season, is now 24 homers shy of Babe Ruth for third place on the all-time leaderboard.
