Houston won last year's season series with the Indians, 4-3. In the Astros' first three seasons in the American League (2013-15), they had gone just 5-16 against Cleveland.

The Astros have won nine of their last 11 games after a 4-4 start to the season. Their 13-6 start is tied for third best in team history through 19 games, and is their best since being 13-6 in 2006.

Cleveland had won five straight games before a 6-2 road loss on Sunday versus the White Sox. The Indians earned 3-0 and 7-0 wins in the first two games of the series, their first time posting shutouts in back-to-back games, both on the road, since April 14-15, 1991 (both at Boston).

Francisco Lindor's five home runs are tied for the most by any shortstop this season (while playing SS only), along with Seattle's Taylor Motter.

Since the start of the 2014 season, Jose Altuve's .331 batting average is the best in the majors (minimum 1000 PA), while Michael Brantley ranks third with a .316 mark (Miguel Cabrera is second at .319).

Dallas Keuchel (3-0, 0.96 ERA) is just the sixth Astros pitcher to have a sub-1.00 ERA through four starts in a season, and first since Keuchel himself had a 0.62 ERA through four outings in his 2015 Cy Young campaign.
