Toronto leads the season series against Baltimore, 7-6, but the Orioles have won both of the series at Camden Yards, two games to one. The Orioles are 28-16 (.636) against the Blue Jays at home since 2012, their best mark at home against any divisional opponent in that span.

Baltimore shut out the Yankees yesterday, 5-0, to avoid a sweep in the Bronx. It was the Orioles' first shutout win since June 25 against Tampa Bay and fifth on the season. Only two AL teams have fewer shutout wins -- Texas (four) and Minnesota (two).

Toronto overcame a three-run deficit in the sixth inning yesterday to beat Minnesota, 9-6. The Blue Jays allowed 21 runs in the series and still completed the sweep, the first time a team has allowed at least 20 runs in a three-game series and swept their opponent since June of 2009 (Milwaukee allowed 25 runs to Cleveland).

Josh Donaldson set a career high with three home runs yesterday against the Twins. It was the second time a Blue Jays player has hit three home runs in a game this season (also: Michael Saunders June 17 at Bal) and the second time multiple Blue Jays players recorded three-homer games in the same season (it also happened in 2010 with Edwin Encarnacion and John Buck).

Wade Miley has allowed 10 runs in his first two home starts for the Orioles and now owns a 9.95 career ERA in five starts at Camden Yards including when Miley was a visiting pitcher. It is easily his worst ERA at any stadium in his career (second worst is 8.38 in two starts at Miller Park).

Marco Estrada has held the Orioles to a .185 batting average in nine career games. That is the fourth lowest career mark by an opposing pitcher since the team moved to Baltimore in 1954. The last pitcher with a lower career average allowed against Baltimore was Paul Abbott (.178 from 1993 to 2004).

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Orioles scored a big victory over the first-place Toronto Blue Jays Tuesday night. Now, the question is, can Baltimore come up with one more in Wednesday's finale of this crucial series.
Matt Wieters hit a tie-breaking eighth-inning homer, giving the Orioles a 5-3 victory on Tuesday. That brought Baltimore (72-60) to within three games of the Jays (75-57) and one behind Boston (73-59), who also lost Tuesday.
