The Twins lost all four road games played versus the Blue Jays last season, being outscored, 26-12, over the four games. Minnesota has not lost five consecutive road games versus Toronto since losing seven in a row at Toronto from April 6, 2006 -- September 4, 2008.

The Twins were swept at home versus the Tigers earlier this week, allowing at least eight runs in all three games. Minnesota has now allowed at least eight runs in 13 games since the All-Star break, second most in MLB over that span (Arizona -- 16).

The Blue Jays lost two of three home games versus the Angels earlier this week and have now lost consecutive series for the first time since losing two of three at Texas in mid-May and then being swept by Tampa Bay at home in the following three-game series.

Jose Bautista has homered in each of his last three games played versus the Twins, the third time in his career that he has homered in three or more consecutive games versus Minnesota (also a three-game streak in 2010 and a four-game streak in 2011).
