Tampa Bay lost, 3-2, in Oakland on Sunday, for its third consecutive setback. Since the start of July, the Rays are just 5-15, worst in MLB.

The Dodgers beat the Cardinals, 9-6, at Busch Stadium on Sunday night to improve their July record to 12-7. The Dodgers now return to Los Angeles after a nine-game road trip, where they are 30-18 on the year as opposed to just 26-26 on the road.

The Rays and Dodgers split two games at Tropicana Field in their first meeting of the season (May 3-4). The clubs have played one series at Dodger Stadium all-time with Los Angeles sweeping three games from Tampa Bay by a combined score of 20-8 in 2013.

Chris Archer picked up his first win since June 6 last Wednesday in Colorado, allowing just two earned runs over six innings, striking out 11, and snapping his personal seven-game winless streak (0-6 record during streak). Archer has five 10+ strikeout games this season -- second most in the American League (David Price -- 7).

Bud Norris made a bullpen appearance last Friday night in St. Louis, allowing one run over 1.1 innings, and taking the loss. Norris (1-0, 2.45 ERA at home since joining Dodgers) is 1-2 with a 4.62 ERA in six career starts against the Rays.

Howie Kendrick is batting .394 with three homers and nine RBI during his current 16-game hitting streak -- the longest active streak in the majors. Kendrick went 5-for-9 with two RBI in the Dodgers' first two games of 2016 against the Rays, and is batting .444 (8-for-18) with four RBI the last four times he's faced Tampa Bay overall.

LOS ANGELES -- The Tampa Bay Rays would like to end their West Coast swing on a high note. They've endured plenty of low blows during stops in Oakland and Los Angeles.
Rays lefty Matt Moore (6-7, 4.31 ERA) will face Dodgers righty Brandon McCarthy (2-0, 1.61 ERA) as Tampa Bay tries to snap a four-game skid in the series finale between the two clubs on Wednesday.
