The Twins and the White Sox have faced each other in two different series so far this season. The White Sox have swept both three-game matchups, outscoring Minnesota, 30-9, in those six games.

The Twins topped the Yankees, 7-1, in the Bronx on Sunday, with starter Tyler Duffey going eight innings and allowing just one run. New York mustered just two hits Sunday -- the fewest allowed by the Twins in any game this season.

The White Sox defeated the Blue Jays, 5-2, at home on Sunday, taking two of the three from Toronto over the weekend. Chris Sale recorded his 13th victory Sunday, tops among all MLB pitchers this season.

Kyle Gibson is still searching for his first win of the season after recording a no-decision in his most recent start versus Philadelphia last Wednesday, throwing six innings while allowing five runs (four earned). However, Gibson did punch out five batters in the start, which marked his highest total of the season.

In his last start six days ago against the Red Sox at Fenway Park, Jose Quintana gave up six earned runs and six walks while only recording one strikeout. The six earned runs and walks were both season highs, while the one strikeout was the fewest he has recorded in any 2016 appearance. It marked the eighth straight start that Quintana has failed to record a win, going 0-6 over that stretch.

Melky Cabrera went 3-for-4 on Sunday, marking his third game in the last five that he's had at least three hits. On the season, Cabrera's eight 3+ hit games are tops among the White Sox.
