Toronto lost, 6-4, in Baltimore yesterday, dropping its second straight game, and falling into a tie with the Royals in the race for the AL's best record in 2015. The Jays have scored four or more runs 105 times this season -- most of any MLB team.

Tampa Bay defeated Miami, 4-1, last night, sweeping three from the Marlins, and winning for the fifth time in the last six home games overall. The Rays need to sweep the Jays over the weekend to avoid their second straight losing season.

The Blue Jays have won four straight games vs. the Rays, evening up the season series at eight wins apiece. Tampa Bay is 4-2 at home against Toronto in 2015.

Mark Buerhle went 6.0 innings and allowed four runs (all earned) last Sunday vs. the Rays, but was saddled with his third straight no-decision for the effort. Buerhle needs one more win to record 15 wins in a season for the first time since going 15-12 in 2008.

Erasmo Ramirez allowed two runs (both earned) in 7.0 IP eight days ago in Boston, earning the win, and improving to 9-4 with a 2.79 ERA in his last 21 starts. Ramirez is 1-1 with a 5.68 ERA in four career starts vs. the Blue Jays.

Former Blue Jay backstop, J.P. Arencibia, went 2-for-4 with an RBI last night, and is batting .364 (4-for-11) with a home run and two RBI in his last three games. Arencibia has three hits in five career games vs. Toronto, two of which were home runs.

After failing to keep pace in the race for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, the Toronto Blue Jays have one more opportunity to possibly make that happen.
In order to do so, the visiting Blue Jays must beat the Tampa Bay Rays and get some help Sunday.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP)  The AL East champion Toronto Blue Jays need a win and some help to claim the AL's best record and home field throughout the postseason.
Tim Beckham had a two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning and the Tampa Bay Rays rallied to beat the Blue Jays 4-3 on Saturday night.
