The Reds dropped two of three over the weekend in Colorado, including getting drubbed, 17-7, on Sunday. The last time Cincinnati allowed more than 17 runs in a single game was when it lost 22-1 to the Phillies on July 6, 2009.

St. Louis lost, 3-2, to the Braves on Sunday, snapping its five-game winning streak in the process. The Cardinals have played 38 one-run contests in 2015 -- tied with the Cubs for most in the majors.

Including a three-game sweep earlier this year at Busch Stadium, the Cardinals have won five straight vs. the Reds, and are 5-1 against Cincinnati in 2015 overall. St. Louis hasn't lost a home series to Cincinnati since September 2-4, 2011 (won nine straight home series vs. Reds since).

Raisel Iglesias allowed two runs (both earned) in 5.2 innings last Tuesday against the Cubs, garnering a no-decision for his efforts. Iglesias' first career MLB start came in a no-decision vs. the Cardinals on April 12 earlier this season (5.0 IP, 3 ER).

Lance Lynn went 6.0 innings and allowed two runs (both earned) in his latest start against the White Sox in Chicago (last Wednesday), but got zero runs of support, and was saddled with his sixth no-decision of the 2015 campaign. Lynn is 5-1 with a 1.83 ERA at home this season.

Brandon Phillips went 1-for-5 yesterday, and is now batting .316 during his current eight-game hitting streak. Phillips has four 7+ game hit streaks in 2015, all of which have come since May 31.

John Lackey has been dominant recently but that's been the case at home all season. That could change against red-hot Joey Votto and the Cincinnati Reds.
Lackey will try to slow Votto down and help the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Reds for the 10th time in 12 meetings at Busch Stadium on Wednesday night.

ST. LOUIS (AP)  Kolten Wong came through with the bases loaded. When faced with the same predicament, Lance Lynn minimized the damage.
Wong hit a grand slam that backed Lynn's seven resourceful innings and led the St. Louis Cardinals over the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 Monday night.
