<p>ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)  Nathan Eovaldi pitched scoreless, five-hit ball into the sixth inning, Garrett Jones homered and the New York Yankees snapped their three-game skid with a 3-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday night.</p>
<p>Chase Headley and Didi Gregorius had run-scoring singles for the Yankees, who had lost seven of 10 before salvaging the finale of their seven-game road trip.</p>
<p>Mike Trout homered for the Angels, whose four-game winning streak ended while their front office was in upheaval.</p>

<p>The Angels announced general manager Jerry Dipoto's resignation during the game, replacing him with former GM Bill Stoneman. Dipoto apparently quit due to conflicts with manager Mike Scioscia, who has denied any problems.</p>
<p>Los Angeles (41-38) failed to move five games above .500 for the first time this season.</p>

The Yankees dropped a 3-1 decision in Houston yesterday, splitting the four-game weekend series, and dropping to 3-6 in their last nine road games overall. New York is now 30-8 when allowing three or fewer runs this season (11-27 in all other games).

Los Angeles beat Seattle, 3-2, in 10 innings on Sunday, winning its second straight contest, and taking the three-game weekend series over the M's in the process. The Halos are 24-0 when allowing two or fewer runs in 2015 (15-37 in all other games).

New York swept three from Los Angeles in these clubs' first meeting of the season at Yankee Stadium, and has beaten the Angels five straight times overall (dating to May 6, 2014). The last time the Bronx Bombers had a longer win streak against the Halos was during a seven-gamer, August 23, 1980 -- May 4, 1981.

CC Sabathia allowed six runs (all earned) in 4.2 innings last Tuesday at home against the Phillies, and including that no-decision, is 0-0 with a 7.47 ERA in his last three starts. Sabathia beat the Angels earlier this season on June 7, and is 3-0 with a 2.70 ERA in his last three starts against the Halos overall.

C.J. Wilson lasted a season-low 3.1 innings and allowed a season-high seven earned runs last Tuesday at home against the Astros, taking the loss, and snapping his personal two-game win streak in the process. Since coming to the Angels in 2012, Wilson is 4-1 with a 3.02 ERA in seven starts against the Yankees.

Albert Pujols went 0-for-5 on Sunday, and is now batting .067 (1-for-15) in his last four games. Pujols is hitting .417, including seven multi-hit performances, in nine games vs. the Yankees at Angel Stadium since joining the Halos in 2012.

Albert Pujols never failed to reach the 30-home run mark in a season that wasn't significantly shortened by injuries until 2014.
It doesn't appear like that will be a problem this year.
