American League Game Summary - Boston at Baltimore

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Davis homered and knocked in three runs and Delmon Young drove in five as the Baltimore Orioles hammered the Boston Red Sox 18-7 on Sunday to close out their three-game series.

Davis, Young, Jimmy Paredes and Reynaldo Navarro each finished with three hits and the Orioles banged out 20 as a team. They won the last two games of the series on the heels of a five-game losing streak.

"It's a game we needed because we were playing sloppy baseball for a week or so," said Young. "It was good to get out of the rut."

The offensive outburst allowed Bud Norris (1-2) to pick up his first win of the season despite giving up three runs, seven hits and three walks in 6 2/3 innings.

Hanley Ramirez belted his seventh and eighth homers of the season and drove in four runs and Pablo Sandoval stroked his first homer for the Red Sox, who dropped four of their last five to finish 2-4 on a six-game road trip.

Wade Miley (1-2) was knocked around for seven runs -- six earned -- on five hits and two walks in just 2 1/2 innings and five other Boston pitchers combined to give up 15 hits and 11 runs.

"I'll say just in general, we have to do better in all phases of the game and it starts with how we keep the game under control from the mound," said Red Sox manager John Farrell. "That wasn't the case today."

Young scored Baltimore's first run after reaching second base in the second inning when center fielder Mookie Betts lost a fly ball in the sun.

The Orioles then took control with a six-run third, loading the bases on singles by Ryan Lavarnway and Everth Cabrera and a walk to Manny Machado. The first run scored on Adam Jones' walk, Young followed with an RBI single and Davis hit a two-run double.

Steve Pearce's RBI single chased Miley, but another run scored when Paredes grounded out against Anthony Varvaro.

Young hit a two-run single in the fourth inning and Navarro added an RBI hit in the fifth. Davis' fourth homer of the season and Paredes' RBI triple, both against Heath Hembree with two outs in the sixth, extended Baltimore's lead to 12-0.

Sandoval hit a two-run homer in the seventh and Ramirez followed with a solo blast. The Orioles tacked on six more runs with seven hits in the bottom of the inning and Ramirez hit a three-run homer in the ninth.
