MLB Game Summary - Philadelphia at NY Yankees

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Adonis Garcia had a two-run single, Masahiro Tanaka made his spring debut for the Yankees with a pair of scoreless innings and New York beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-0 on Saturday.

Ichiro Suzuki and Francisco Cervelli added RBI singles for the Yankees, who yielded just five hits in the game -- all singles.

Tanaka entered in the fifth inning and yielded a leadoff single to Darin Ruf on an 0-2 pitch, then retired the next two batters on fly balls before fanning Cesar Hernandez. The Japanese right-hander also worked around a one-out single in the sixth with a pair of strikeouts.

Tanaka signed a seven-year contract worth a reported $155 million in the offseason. He was an astonishing 24-0 with a 1.27 earned run average and 183 strikeouts in 212 innings over 28 games (27 starts) for Rakuten of Japan's Pacific League in 2013.

CC Sabathia started for the Yankees and gave up two hits in two innings. Phillies starter David Buchanan struck out three and gave up just one hit in two frames.
