National League Game Summary - Pittsburgh at Milwaukee

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyle Lohse came within one out of a complete game and the Milwaukee Brewers won their ninth straight contest, 4-1, over Pittsburgh to complete a three-game sweep at Miller Park.

Lohse (2-1) fanned nine and allowed four hits and one run without walking a batter. Will Smith struck out the lone batter he faced to pick up his first save of his career.

Carlos Gomez and Aramis Ramirez each picked up an RBI for the Brewers.

Andrew McCutchen drove in the lone run for the Pirates, who have lost four of five.

Pirates starter Charlie Morton (0-1) surrendered four runs -- two earned -- on six hits through seven frames, while walking and striking out three apiece.

With the contest knotted at one apiece, Ryan Braun led off the bottom of the fourth with a double to the right side. Ramirez then ripped a single to left, bringing Braun across with the eventual game-deciding run.

Milwaukee spread the margin further in the sixth with another pair of runs. Ramirez worked a one-out walk prior to a double by Lyle Overbay. With runners at second and third, Scooter Gennett struck out, but on the dropped third strike Tony Sanchez threw the ball into right field past Travis Ishikawa, allowing Ramirez and Overbay to come around and score.

Lohse sat down 14 straight Pittsburgh batters until a two-out single by McCutchen in the ninth, which ended his outing.

The Brewers broke through in the bottom of the third. Martin Maldonado hit a leadoff double to right field before a sacrifice bunt from Lohse advanced him to third. Gomez then hit a sacrifice fly to right to bring Maldonado in to score.

The Pirates responded and knotted the game at one in the top of the fourth. Back-to-back singles from Sterling Marte and Jose Tabata to start the inning set up McCutchen for a sacrifice fly, which plated Marte after he reached third on Tabata's single.
