American League Game Summary - Toronto at Boston

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Thanks to three RBI from Mike Carp, the Boston Red Sox wrapped up the AL East on Friday with a 6-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday.

Having clinched a playoff spot on Thursday, the Red Sox captured the AL East for the first time since 2007, and just a year removed from finishing dead last in the division.

David Ortiz also drove in a run, while Daniel Nava was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Red Sox, who have won two straight and five of seven. Jon Lester (15-8) gave up a run on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts over seven innings of work.

Adam Lind hit a two-run home run and Rajai Davis was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for the Blue Jays, who have dropped seven of 10 and will finish the season in last place in the AL East. Esmil Rogers (5-8) gave up two runs on three hits and five walks in just 2 1/3 innings to take the loss.
