Jose Mourinho denies making 2nd bid for Everton's John Stones

A second attempt to lure John Stones away from Everton may not be on the horizon after Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho talked about his satisfaction with his squad heading into the new season.

Chelsea were thought to be in the process of preparing a second bid for the young centre-back after Everton rejected their first offer, reportedly worth £20 million.

Mourinho appears to have changed his mind and is content with the relatively unchanged squad that captured the Premier League trophy last season.

"You are speaking with the manager of the best team in England. We are a top team, we have top players," Mourinho told reporters after Chelsea's 4-2 loss to the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday. "We don't need other players, we trust these players."

One addition that seems certain at this point will be the acquisition of a left-back following news that Filipe Luis will leave the club and rejoin Atletico Madrid.
