<p>SOUTHAMPTON, England (AP)  Southampton's surprise bid for Champions League qualification took a hit with a 1-0 home loss to Swansea in the English Premier League on Sunday.</p>
<p>Jonjo Shelvey grabbed the winner in the 83rd minute with a swerving shot from the edge of the area, leaving Southampton to bemoan its inability to translate dominance into goals.</p>
<p>A straight red card for left back Ryan Bertrand for a lunging tackle on Modou Barrow in the 89th capped a frustrating day for the hosts at St. Mary's.</p>
