Southampton beats Crystal Palace 2-0 in EPL

SOUTHAMPTON, England (AP) Southampton scored two goals in two minutes at the start of the second half Saturday for a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

New signing Pablo Osvaldo opened the scoring in the 47th minute and England striker Rickie Lambert added the second just two minutes later from a free kick - his 200th career league goal.

Crystal Palace forward Marouane Chamakh had appealed for a penalty in the first half, but was booked for diving instead in one of the visitors' few good chances.

It was Southampton's first home league win since March and came a week after beating Liverpool 1-0 away, putting the team provisionally into fourth place in the standings with 11 points from six games.
