Mario Gotze out 10-12 weeks after suffering adductor injury on international duty

Bayern Munich could be without Mario Gotze for the remainder of the calendar year.

After the 23-year-old hobbled off the pitch in the 35th minute of Germany's 1-0 defeat to Ireland in Euro 2016 qualifying, the reigning Bundesliga champion announced Friday that Gotze will, harshly, be in the treatment room for at least 10 weeks.

The injury comes at a time when Gotze, who has tallied one goal and three assists in the Bundesliga this season and another two goals in the Champions League, was just beginning to solidify his place in Bayern's starting XI.

Meanwhile, Bayern has no reason to panic. It goes without saying the club possesses more depth than any other in Europe, and both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery returned to training in the last four days.

Should Gotze require 12 weeks to recover, he would be ready to play again on Jan. 1.
