Lewis Holtby will not be returning to White Hart Lane.
The 24-year-old attacking midfielder spent nearly all of last season on loan at Hamburger SV from Tottenham Hotspur, and the German club exercised its option to secure Holtby on a permanent transfer Wednesday.
Holtby made 22 Bundesliga appearances during his loan spell at Hamburg, who avoided what would have been the club's first-ever relegation in dramatic fashion, defeating Karlsruher SC in extra time of the relegation play-off.
