Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge ruled out Manchester City as a possible destination for manager Pep Guardiola.

Before the club's 6-1 triumph against FC Porto to advance to the Champions League semifinal, speculation about a possible exit emerged, with Manchester City interested in him as a replacement for under-fire manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Rummenigge, however, dispelled rumours suggesting the Spanish manager would join City and reunite with director of football Txiki Begiristain, who occupied the same position at Barcelona during Guardiola's tenure with the Spanish side.

"I don't worry about that. It just shows the quality of our coach. I also know that Begiristain worked with Pep at Barcelona," Rummenigge told German publication Bild.

"But I can't imagine that Pep Guardiola will join a club like Manchester City. I know for sure that he will be our coach until June 30, 2016 at least."

The former German international added that he believes Guardiola could even extend his stay with the Bundesliga leaders beyond his current deal.

"We have an agreement. We'll finish this season, and we will talk in the second half of 2015," he said. "Our goal is to prolong with Pep Guardiola. And I think that we have good chances he'll be our coach beyond 2016."

Guardiola joined the German side in 2013 after four seasons in charge of Barcelona. While he's gone on to capture multiple trophies with Die Roten, a Champions League title would be the ultimate goal.

He and Bayern Munich will have to wait until Friday to find out if they'll be paired with Barcelona, Real Madrid or Juventus in the semifinal.
